Tiger Woods is back on the course this week at TPC Sawgrass for The Players Championship after missing last week’s Arnold Palmer Invitational with a neck strain.
The two-time Players winner shot a 2-under 70 on Thursday afternoon, walking off the course T-34.
Woods got off to a slow start, grinding out pars and avoiding bogeys en route to an even par 36. His scorecard down the stretch was a lot more colorful with birdies on three of the first five holes, and bogeys on the other two.
His shot of the day came on the famous island green on No. 17. After stepping off the initial shot, Woods collected himself and stared down his ball that just made it onto the green. He one-hopped onto the front edge, just missing the water, to set up a birdie putt from just outside 10 feet, which he made.
Tommy Fleetwood and Keegan Bradley lead the tournament at 7-under.
